Made in America -- you don't see that much any more, especially in home appliances. Chances are if you look under the appliances on your Kitchen countertop, most will be Made in China, India, Taiwan or some other Asian country.

So when you do see it, you know you are seeing something special, something of such quality that people will continue to buy it instead of running for a slightly cheaper import.

KitchenAid Inc. still makes their iconic stand mixers in America. First marketed in 1919 and retaining a classic design dating to the '30s, the KitchenAid Stand Mixer has sold millions, and even has a spot in the Smithsonian. When people buy a KitchenAid, they aren't thinking, as is so often the case nowadays, of "I hope this lasts a few years." No, they are assuming that their KitchenAid will last for decades. Because they have. In many homes, they are a piece of artwork and not merely a "mixer." With 49 colors available (and rising), home cooks can match any decor.

The company literally invented the stand mixer. In 1908, KitchenAid's precursor, the Hobart Company, began testing electric stand mixers for professional use led by Herbert Johnson, who had watched a man struggling to mix bread dough by hand in a bowl and knew there had to be a better way, according to the company.

Enjoy! (Bookmark this page for daily updates!)

P.S. Please note that prices change all the time, often within hours, and are not always immediately reflected on this page. Deals on this page often sell out quickly! Let me know in the comments below if you see a great deal or a deal that has expired and I will update ASAP. Thanks!

The attachment rebate does not apply to refurbished models. Read the fine print!

I thought this sale was going to last until Labor Day. I just went to buy one (8/31/07), and they're not on sale anymore. I'm so upset! I wish I'd known it was going to end yesterday! I was just having trouble picking a color.

Help! I just tried to order the Kitchenaid 6 qt. mixer from LNT using the 25% off code and they won't accept it. They also say it is only available online - no in store pickup.

Some time ago you indicated that Amazon.com had the Artisan mixer for $159 on Black Friday last year but that was only for a short period of time. I really really want this mixer and was wondering if you recall about what time this was offered? I know $179 after rebate is a great price- but if I can get it a little cheaper...all the better-

Thank you for your awesome site- I have been checking it all year in anticipation of my purchase!

Thanks Again for the great service you are providing!

The $20 Artisan rebates are now expired unless I'm missing something. Thorn, your post said "New" rebate, but I can't find one on Kitchenaid or Amazon. Any help with this?

Thanks!

thorn_stevens said...

The $20 Artisan rebate has expired. The $50 KitchenAid 600 rebate expires 1/1/08, and is now the best deal.

You may want to choose the LNT deal for most Artisan mixers. Shipping is now free although you still have to pay tax.

Sorry I didn't see it expired sooner!

Why isn't the price for the nickel pearl on amazon the same as what you list on your site? I followed the link to buy it and find the price doesn't match what you list.

Thanks for the info...I found your site on Dec 24th and picked up my beautiful 600 series mixer at LNT for $319 today, the 27th! I have the rebate form downloaded and ready to go. What a deal, thanks again.

Best Christmas Gift ever! I just picked up the Empire Red 5qt Stand Mixer through Amazon for $199. THANK YOU! This blog is now on my link list!

There is no $80 rebate unless I'm missing something. At first I thought the $50 and $30 rebates were stackable, but the $50 rebate expired 12/31 and the $30 rebate started on 1/1. Am I missing something?

I bought a chrome Artisan at Amazon for $199 on 1/7/08. I'll get the $30 rebate from Kitchenaid, I got a $30 credit for opening an Amazon credit card plus I am going to request a $12 refund for the magazine I don't want that was part of Kitchenaid's rebate. (Check the fine print!) So when it's all done I will have paid $127 for an Artisan. What a deal!

As of AM on Friday, 1/17/08, Amazon.com has the Kitchenaid 5qt. Artisan mixer in Empire Red on their Friday sale for $199.

adamb2000 said...

Amazon.com has the 6 qt. Professional series mixer in Licorice and Meringue on sale for $299 today (5:15 pm Central, Saturday, 1/19/08), plus the $30 rebate. So if you do the free Super Saver Shipping, you get it for $299, shipped and sales tax free (at least in my area) out the door, and $269 with the rebate. I saw this for $317 or so, the other day, but their normal price on these two cheaper colors is $347.

After purchasing the 6 qt. Professional KitchenAid Mixer in Nickel Pearl for $279 on Amazon last night, I put it back into my shopping cart to keep an eye on the price, and lo and behold, it dropped to $259 today. That's right folks, as of the evening of Friday, 1/25/08, this mixer is now $259, and when you throw in the rebate, it's only $229. What a steal! BTW, Amazon customer service was VERY quick and painless in crediting my account for the $20 after I called them!

I have been looking at the Kitchenaid stand mixer at costco model KG25H3XSL with the 475 watts and can not find it on Kitchenaid website. Can you tell me which another model that is compartible to the Costco one with the best price. Costco one is selling for $299 + tax. I am looking for a home use one thus don't need the 600 series although it has the best price. Thanks so much

Where did you see that ad? There was a $125 mixer for one day last year. I don't know of any ads that list a $125 mixer. Let me know!

I work for Whirlpool's KitchenAid Division in Greenville Ohio. We actually make all these mixers there (Im a paint tech in the paint room). If I may make a suggestion if you are having trouble finding what you want call the KithchenAid Experience Store in Greenville, Ohio. The have or can have us paint you the mixer that you want. No custom paint jobs of course. just our coporate colors and we do have colors that we only paint for speciality stores such as William Sonoma. We are introducing some new colors this year as well. We will be unvailing a new Candy Apple Red that is beautiful, as well as grass green, french blue, and sunshine yellow. The Metallic Chrome has been place on hold due to issues with the paint from our supplier. We will only send out quality products, this includes what the paint looks like once it is cured. Our paint supplier is working on a new formula for the MC but it could take a few months, if this is the color you want be patient it will be back better than before. The store can give you a list of colors and models that is to long for me to list plus the may still have some of our dicontinued colors in stock. I hope this is helpful information for those of you looking for a KitchenAid Mixer. I have one myself and wouldn't give it up for the world.

Darn! I just started shopping for an Artisan this week, and the $199 deal on amazon.com expired before I decided. Can you tell me - does anyone have any experience with the refurbished ones through the Kitchenaid Online Store? Quite honestly, I've never had problems with kitchen appliances at all - but just was hoping to find some good comments about the quality of the refurbished ones, just in case. Thanks! Love your site!

Amazon did not show the rebate, where can I find it. Is the refurbed mixer ok?
Thanks.

Where can you print the rebate for the ice cream maker when you purchase 575 watts professional 6 qt stand mixer. In the advertisement it says the price for the mixer is $319 when you actually purchase it says $339. Why $20 difference?

This is an awesome blog! I just linked one of the posts in my blog, "Show Me the Dough" to yours (look under the "equipment" post, stand mixer item). I want people to be able to find these incredible stand mixers for a great price. Mine is 18 years old and still going strong!
It is one of the major appliances that allow me to keep my grocery bill below $300 for a family of four. Don't wait to buy one. Nope, I'm not making money on this! My blog is at http://savemoneyonfood.blogspot.com. Please share it with everyone you know. And buy your mixer, already. :)

I've been looking for a KitchenAid Artisan stand mixer for a good price, and I've been surprised by the number of refurbished units for sale everywhere. Why is that? It's not as if these are older models. Are the mixers not of the same quality they were years ago?

help! I just tried to link to the $179 Refurbished artisan mixer and all I could come up with was one at amazon for $239. Do you know where this deal went?

Kitchen aid makes a model 620 that is only available at two stores:Williams-Sonoma at the outrageous price of $800.00+ and Chefs at $399.00. Do not understand why it's not available elsewhere.
What's so special about this model?

When I attempted to purchase the KitchenAid Pro 600 mixer @ $219 (after $50 rebate) via Amazon, I found that they are no longer offering that price for the Nickel Pearl finish as posted. The price is listed at $359. I called Amazon and they indicated that the special only exists on the black finish. Am I missing something?

The Mommy said...

I don't get it...it's only 10:26 AM...am I totally late on the ball or what? The 600 series 6 qt Nickle Pearl is back up to $369! Did they only have that price for a few hours this morning? They have a licorice for $269.99, but none that size for as low as you posted. I'm so dissapointed that I missed it already!

I just bought my Kitchenaid Professional 600 in the color that I want - Nickel Pearl for only $219 less rebate! I have been checking your blog everyday for the price to go down since I wasn't able to do it when it went down to $249 and now it's even lower. I would never have known that the kitchenaid mixer that I have been dreaming of goes for a lot lower price than department stores and no tax at that in Amazon until I stumbled into your blog. It surely helped me. Thank you so much for doing this great service for people like me who can only afford bargains!

thorn_stevens said...

Keep checking -- the price is back down to $219.

AND DON'T WAIT!!!

My Kitchenaid Pro 600 in the beautiful Nickle Pearl finish arrived yesterday! At $219 after rebate, it was a steal! No tax and free 2-day shipping with the trial offer. I never dreamed I could afford one because the price never went down this low in retail stores. I owe it to this awesome blog and it's one of my favorites now. Thanks again. One thing I've learned though - when the price is this good, you have to decide fast because Amazon keeps it only for several hours.

I got the 5qt Artisan in chrome at Lowe's for $199. Free shipping, and using the rebate will bring it under to just around $170 (including tax).

thorn_stevens said...

The rebate form specifically EXCLUDES Lowe's and you have to pay tax, too, which can add as much as $20.

Any suggestions if you want the deal but you live in Canada? They don't ship anywhere outside the States...
